Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Bantay Oriental Mindoro website (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and by our Privacy Policy, available at https://bantayorientalmindoro.com/privacy-policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

Bantay Oriental Mindoro is an independent, non-partisan community information, public engagement, and survey platform focused on Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. It offers an independent governor survey, community discussion features, and publicly published aggregate results.

The Platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro, the national government, or any candidate, political party, or campaign.

Some features, including voting in surveys and community participation, require a registered account. You are responsible for: keeping your password and account credentials confidential; all activity that occurs through your account; providing accurate information when you create a profile or submit content; and notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be a real person and may maintain only one account on the Platform. Creating multiple accounts, or using another person's account, is prohibited.

You may sign in to the Platform using Google Sign-In. When you do, Google shares your basic profile information (name, email address, and profile photo) with the Platform as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy. Revoking the Platform's access from your Google Account settings will prevent future sign-in with Google.

Community features are provided for respectful, constructive discussion about matters concerning Oriental Mindoro. You agree to: treat other members with respect; keep discussions on the available topic categories; and report content that violates these Terms using the Platform's reporting feature.

Personal information about other people, including contact details, private photos, or any information posted without their consent, may not be published. Organized harassment, brigading, or abuse of the report system is prohibited.

Participation in the Platform's surveys is voluntary and free of charge. To keep results meaningful, each registered account may record one response per survey. Responses are final once submitted and cannot be transferred between accounts.

Participation requires a registered, verified account. Providing false information in connection with your account or participation may result in removal of responses and suspension of the account.

When using the Platform, you agree not to: violate any applicable law or regulation; impersonate any person or entity, including candidates and public officials; submit false, misleading, or manipulated survey responses; create multiple accounts to manipulate results; publish content that is defamatory, hateful, threatening, obscene, or that incites violence or illegal activity; distribute malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform, other accounts, or related systems; scrape, harvest, or export personal information of other users; or interfere with the Platform's operation, security, or integrity features.

Spam, chain messages, unsolicited advertising, automated or scripted access, bulk account creation, and any use of bots or automated tools to interact with the Platform are prohibited. We may apply rate limits, abuse detection, and other technical measures to prevent automated abuse, and may suspend accounts and discard responses that result from it.

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform, such as posts, comments, profile information, and feedback messages. By publishing content, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and providing the Platform's features, including public display of content you choose to publish.

You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party. Do not publish confidential or sensitive information in public content.

The Platform is moderated. Content that violates these Terms or community guidelines may be edited, hidden, or removed, and accounts may be restricted or suspended. Moderation actions are logged for accountability. You may appeal a moderation decision by contacting us through the Contact page.

We aim to moderate fairly, but we cannot guarantee that all unacceptable content will be identified or removed, and we are not responsible for content posted by users.

The Platform's surveys are independent, voluntary, and non-scientific unless a published methodology states otherwise. Results reflect only the responses of registered participants who chose to take part, and may not represent the views of the general population of Oriental Mindoro.

Survey results published on this Platform are informational only. They are not official election results, are not a prediction of any election outcome, and must not be presented as such by anyone. Official election results are published exclusively by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

The Platform's design, text, branding, and code, other than user-generated content, are owned by the Platform or its operators and are protected by intellectual property laws. The official provincial seal, government marks, and candidate names and likenesses belong to their respective owners and are used on this Platform solely for identification and informational purposes.

You may not copy, republish, or use Platform materials for commercial purposes without permission. You may freely share links and cite aggregate survey results with attribution to Bantay Oriental Mindoro.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for reliable availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, including during maintenance or survey open and close periods.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, manipulate survey results, abuse other members, or threaten the security or operation of the Platform. Where reasonable, we will notify affected users of the reason. You may stop using the Platform and request deletion of your account at any time through the Contact page.

Our handling of personal information, including Google Sign-In data, is described in the Privacy Policy at https://bantayorientalmindoro.com/privacy-policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Questions, reports, and complaints about the Platform or these Terms may be submitted through the Contact page at https://bantayorientalmindoro.com/contact. We will make reasonable efforts to review and respond to inquiries.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from the use of the Platform shall, where possible, first be raised with us through the Contact page so that it can be addressed informally and in good faith.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at https://bantayorientalmindoro.com/terms-of-service. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; for significant changes, we will announce them on the Platform.
